Jakarta, 6 November 2015 - As part of Bank Mandiri's consistent efforts to expand its credit card business, the Bank has introduced the Visa Signature credit card so as to boost customer transactions, particularly transactions in the priority banking segment. By the end of September 2015, some 3.8 million Mandiri credit cards were in circulation, with a total portfolio value of Rp 8.7 trillion, up 15% from 2014.

At the same time, the number of Mandiri priority customers stood at more than 40,000, while the credit-card loan portfolio in this segment amounted to Rp 2 trillion, up 26% from 2014.

Bank Mandiri Deputy CEO Sulaiman A. Arianto said that priority customers had specific habits and shopping patterns and thus required tailor-made products to suit their needs.

'This move forms part of the company's endeavors to consistently provide excellent service to all our customers, and in this respect particularly our premium-segment customers,' said Sulaiman.

Bank Mandiri Director of Consumer Banking, Hery Gunardi, said that the Visa Signature credit card offered a number of special features, including earning three times the number of customer loyalty points (Fiestapoin) earned by regular cards, a free Garuda Miles Platinum card, and the most economical conversion rate for Garuda Miles. In addition, he said, Visa Signature provides holders with free access to Priority Pass Lounges worldwide and travel insurance of USD 500,000.

'We strive to continually introduce innovative features and programs to provide better added value to our customers. Through our various innovations, including the introduction of this card, we expect credit lending to grow by 9% this year, 'said Hery.
