Jakarta, 15 December 2015 - Bank Mandiri has launched the Mandiri World Elite credit card to boost credit card transactions in the private banking segment. As of the end of October 2015, the Bank Mandiri outstanding credit card balance amounted to Rp 8.8 trillion, up 14% from the previous year, while the number of Mandiri credit cards in circulation stood at 3.9 million.

Also at the end of October 2015, the number of Bank Mandiri priority customers amounted to more than 45,000, of which approximately 3% were categorized as High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs). Meanwhile, the value of funds under management for all Bank Mandiri priority customers stood at Rp 136 trillion, up 6% from the end of October 2014.

'With our very varied customer base, Bank Mandiri is committed to providing excellent service to all our customers, including those in the premium segment. To that end, we hope the Mandiri World Elite will be welcomed as an expression of our appreciation for the trust placed in us by our private banking customers,' said Bank Mandiri Director of Consumer Banking Hery Gunardi in Jakarta on Tuesday (15/12).

Hery said that the company would continue to introduce new innovations in credit card services, particularly in the premium segment as this segment had been one of the main consumer-sector business focuses of Bank Mandiri since 2010.

Hery said he expected the Mandiri World Elite credit card to become the favored means of payment among the Bank's premium customers. This was because of the various benefits the card offered, such as 4 times more loyalty points (Fiestapoin) than regular cards, directly obtaining the benefits offered by the GarudaMiles Platinum card issued by national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, and free Priority Pass membership and access to Priority Pass lounges worldwide.

In addition, Hery said, holders also enjoy access to the Mandiri World Elite Concierge, a special service that takes care of customer needs and requests, such as in connection with shopping, access to exclusive events and concerts and even arranging for local or international artists to perform at a customer's private event.

'We believe that this product will win the trust of customers so as to support the achievement of our target of increasing our outstanding credit-card balance by more than 9% this year,' said Hery.

Safdar Khan, Mastercard Group Country Manager Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei and Group Head Islamic Payments Southeast Asia Payments, commented: 'We congratulate Bank Mandiri on being the first bank to launch the Mastercard World Elite credit card in Indonesia. We continuously strive to ensure that MasterCard cardholders receive products and services that are the best in their class so as to meet their lifestyle needs. Partnering with Bank Mandiri confirms our commitment to further enhancing the exclusive and memorable experience felt by priority customers. We hope our priority customers can experience the most precious moments of their lives through the ease and convenience provided by this card.'
