HONOLULU, HAWAII - Bank of Hawaii has announced plans to relocate its Ward Plaza Branch to the ground floor of Hokua at 1288 Ala Moana. Construction for the new location is expected to begin at the end of February 2013 and be completed by mid-August.

Kevin Sakamoto, executive vice president for the bank's Hawaii Branch Division, said, "This is a great opportunity for the bank since the visibility, accessibility and parking at Hokua are exceptional. It's a perfect location, convenient for customers and near the heart of a lot of new development in Kakaako."

All of the same full-service banking products will be available at the new location and customers will not need to do anything regarding their accounts as a result of the move. All 11 Ward branch employees will transfer to the new site, which is only about a half-mile from the current location.

The Ward branch, which opened in 1970, will close on a Friday and the new branch will open the following Monday, which will allow for a smooth transition in service to customers. All accounts and safe deposit boxes will be transferred to the new location.

The architect for the project is DKKY Architecture Studio in Honolulu.

Hokua, a mixed-use luxury residential tower, was jointly developed by The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group and they continue to own the commercial spaces on the first two floors.

Bank of Hawaii is a regional financial services company with operations in Hawaii, American Samoa and the West Pacific. Bank of Hawaii has the largest network of branches and ATMs in the state of Hawaii with 66 branches and 440 ATMs.
