Bank of Maharashtra awards Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Rolling Trophy to the best performing Branch in disbursing credit and recovery of advances to SC/ST community every year.
Khamgaon Branch of Akola Zone has been conferred with the trophy for the financial year 2014-15 for outstanding work in the category.
This prestigious award has been handed over to Ms. Rani Meshram, Branch Manager of Khamgaon Branch at the hands of Shri Uttam Kamble, Editor Director, Sakal Papers Ltd in a function held at Bank's Head Office, Pune in presence of Executive Directors of the Bank Shri. R. Athmaram and Shri. R.K.Gupta.
Addressing the audience, Executive Director Mr. Athmaram, emphasized on the need of financing the SC/ST community for upliftment of Society as a part of inclusive development for the overall progress of the Nation. He congratulated the staff on whole hearted participation and involvement and reminded the important role of banker in Socio-Economic growth of the country.
Executive Director Shri R. K. Gupta in his speech emphasized on Inclusive growth and added that recently launched Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana is one of the mechanisms which help in betterment of the Society at large.
Shri Uttam Kamble in his key note address highlighted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Ideology and his influence as a true leader of masses irrespective of caste and creeds.
In his speech, he quoted Nation remembers Dr.Ambedkar as a Maha Purush besides his achievements in all areas of Socio-Economic development of the poor& backward sections of the society. He lamented whether the nation is continuing his ideals in the same way he desired. He exhorted all sections of Society not to forget his ideals as they are highly relevant today. His drafted Constitution is the only document which empowers People of India where as rest of the world eulogizes the Emperor.
In this function first runner up prize winner Mr. Nirbhay Ranjan, Branch Manager of Rajgarh Branch, Indore Zone and Second Runner up Mr. Sujit Kumar, Branch Manager of Abhone Branch, Nasik Zone were also felicitated.
Top officials of the Bank & staff members in large number attended the occasion.
