Bank of Maharashtra celebrates 83rd Foundation Day

Pune, September 16, 2017: Bank of Maharashtra, one of the oldest public sector banks in India, celebrated its 83rd Foundation Day at its Head Office in Pune. The event was attended by noted dignitaries like Dr Satyapal Singh, Honorable Minister of State for the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ms Mukta Tilak, Mayor of Pune, Mr Anil Shirole, MP, Mr Vishwas Mahadeshwar, Mayor of Mumbai, noted actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, eminent playback singer Suresh Wadkar, Swaradhish Dr Bharat Balvalli, industrialists and distinguished dignitaries from different walks of life graced the occasion.

Established in Pune in 1935, the bank has grown to a strength of 1897 branches, 1878 ATMs and over 2.5 crore customers across the country. On the occasion, Ravindra Marathe, MD & CEO of Bank of Maharashtra addressed the audience present, outlining the history and growth of the bank, saluting the bank's founders and thanking employees and customers for their relentless support and belief in the institution. improving and strengthening our credit delivery mechanisms, promoting effective banking operations and customer oriented banking products," said Shri Marathe during the event.

"On the occasion of the festive season, Bank of Maharashtra has announced attractive services for the benefit of our customers. We have completely waived off processing fees on home and car loans from September 1, 2017 till December 2017. Bank of Maharashtra offers customized home and vehicle loans to customers and had formed an exclusive task force at the zonal offices to ensure disbursal within a week's time for housing loans and 48 hours for vehicle loans," he added.

Dr. Satyapal Singh said, "Bank of Maharashtra's contribution to the growth of the State of Maharashtra and the country is highly commendable. He further added that he has special affection for the city of Pune, considered the Oxford of the East and Maharashtra State and its citizens as they have played a significant role in shaping his career. He concluded by saying that in his current role he will lay special focus to improve the standard of higher and technical education in the country. At the event, Dr. Satyapal Singh felicitated the families of war heroes Gunner Saurabh Kumar Nandkumar Farate and Nayak Sandip Sarjarao Jadhav. Additionally, a photo frame consisting of the photographs of 21 Param Veer Chakra Awardees, India's highest military award for distinguished acts of valor during wartime, was presented by Bank of Maharashtra to the principles of seven colleges from Pune. The aim is to help instill a sense of patriotism in the younger generations.

Shri Ravindra Marathe also felicitated Bank of Maharashtra employees who have received accolades in sporting events across the country. Ms V Roopa was felicitated for her achievements in shot put, discus and javelin, and Mr Arun Kedar for his achievements in carom tournaments across the country and abroad. A book written by Dilip Prabhavalkar was also launched on the occasion. The introductory speech was given by Mr RK Gupta, Executive Director and the vote of thanks was given by Mr AC Rout, Executive Director of the Bank.

The Bank has also organized preventive Health Check up camps in association with Cigna TTK at banks 29 nationwide Zonal Offices for their employees.

Suresh Wadkar and Swaradhish Dr Bharat Balvalli enthralled the audience by their mesmerizing performance.
