Renny Narvaez, a Senior Development Manager in BNY Mellon's Treasury Services Global Innovation group, was one of 31 individuals selected to participate in the BAFT Future Leaders program class of 2018. In this program - now in its third year - the international financial services association recognizes upcoming leaders in the transaction banking industry.

Nominated by their respective institutions, the class of 2018 includes individuals from 16 countries and a variety of disciplines within transaction banking. This year's group will be divided into four project teams to address current industry issues such as correspondent banking relationships, cybersecurity threats and defense, artificial intelligence and transaction banking recruitment.

At BNY Mellon, Narvaez supports delivery of strategic projects and the innovation process including ideation, idea evaluation, development, product build and launch. His extensive program management skills were developed through diverse functional roles in the bank and two prior global banks, including roles in card payments, risk, finance, and software deployments.

With BAFT, Narvaez will collaborate with fellow Future Leaders on Practical Applications of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, and will work to deliver a paper outlining the status and direction of the market, regulatory acceptance of new technologies using artificial intelligence and big data, and the impact to transaction banking.

'I'm honored to have been selected for BAFT's Future Leaders program and to join such an esteemed group within the transaction banking industry,' said Mr. Narvaez. 'I look forward to working with my colleagues to identify solutions for critical industry issues.'

'We are very excited about Renny's participation in the BAFT Future Leaders program, and look forward to the skill development and practical experiences he will be able to apply to his digital innovation role,' said Christopher Mager, Managing Director, Head of Global Innovation, BNY Mellon Treasury Services.

The class of 2018 will begin the program at the annual BAFT Europe Forum in London, and will conclude at the BAFT North America Meeting in Florida in May. Several class of 2017 program alumni will support the current class as mentors, joining BAFT board members who will again serve as project sponsors.
