When the Virtual Reality (VR) Meetup officially kicks-off in Brussels a VR market leader like Barco absolutely has to be there! Barco was delighted to host a speaking slot about the corporate deployment of VR during the first VR Meetup in Belgium, last week.

"Why I am excited about VR"
For those of you less familiar with the 'Meet-up' concept: Meet-up is an online portal that facilities offline group meetings around a particular topic. On 14 November, around 180 people met at the Microsoft Innovation Center in Brussels for half a day of immersion into the world of VR. Barco attended the event and we were in good company. The agenda included VR demos and presentations by the cream of the crop of VR technology, including an inspiring keynote by game developer Ana Ribeiro, creator of the famous game Pixel rift, on "why I am excited about VR".

Visualize, virtualize and immerse
Our colleague Koen Werbrouck, Business Development Manager, had been invited to talk about the corporate perspective of VR. In an interesting presentation, he explained how Barco's VR display systems, like power walls and cave displays, help big-name companies in the world of manufacturing and oil and gas - like Daimler, Kuwait Oil Company, Electrolux, Essilor and numerous universities - to visualize, virtualize and immerse … in order to optimize their design, production and exploration processes.
