Did you pass through the La Défense metro station in Paris, lately? If so, you may have spotted an eye-catching digital advertisement for Nest, the Google's thermostat, or for the latest Warner Bros movie. Since December 2014, the central hall features a brand-new 46m² display composed of 134 Barco 4mm LED tiles, which serves as the station's information and entertainment hub.

Inspired by the 'Digital Dream'
For over sixty-five years, Metrobus has been selling advertising space in the Paris subways. When in 2014, the company launched a call for tenders for a new LED display in the central hall, Barco emerged as the best partner for the LED technology. "We had seen the Barco solutions at work during ISE 2014 in Amsterdam, just after launching the tender, and were impressed by the quality," says Jerome Chellet, Innovation Project Manager at Metrobus. "Yet most of all, we were amazed by the 'Digital Dream' - the huge LED wall that Barco had installed at the Les Quatre Temps mall, near to the Paris metro station. The amazing set-up there inspired us to join forces with Barco. Equally important in our decision was the availability of local sales team in Belgium and France. It's easy to work together with a company that's 'just behind the corner'. "

Information and entertainment
The set-up at the metro station, which is ready since December, serves as an information and entertainment hub for over 2.5 million commuters who pass through the station each month. They can see schedules and travel-related information on both sides of the new wall, while the large 24m² central screen is open for advertisements in full HD quality. The first advertisers, Google and Warner, were, of course, attracted by the location of the display, in the busy La Défense metro station. Yet they were also impressed about the brightness of the display. Metrobus, for its part, especially appreciates the reliability and quality of the product and the ease of managing and controlling the screen.
