Barco's annual report 2013 is more than just a financial statement; it also reflects our corporate identity, our core values, and our vision for the future - all conveyed in an open and transparent format that is at once informative, accessible and pleasing to the eye. The League of American Communication Professionals (LACP) even gave our report the bronze medal at the prestigious Vision Awards 2013!

96/100
"This year, competition was exceptionally tough, as nearly 1,000 organizations submitted their annual reports for the 2013 Vision Awards," says Christine Kennedy, LACP's Managing Director. "Barco's submission, however, proved to be outstanding in many ways, and was awarded a total score of 96 out of a maximum 100 points." Other winners in the bronze category are BMW Group, FedEx and Henkel.

Connecting content and creativity
In its official report, the jury lauds the contemporary design and signature colors that strongly link the brand to a chosen hue. Mrs. Kennedy: "The level of creativity exhibited is superb. Furthermore, the design is supported by excellent clarity in communication of this year's key messages, making crucial information easily accessible. The execution of the 'Letter to the Shareholders', for example, is truly exceptional. We congratulate the entire team involved, and classify this entry among the best annual reports within its industry this year."

Pushing the envelope
So far, the report has been downloaded more than 3,000 times. Furthermore, Barco's communication department organized a special session for its employees to shed some light on the ins and outs of crafting an annual report. "This award is an acknowledgment of the hard work that goes into creating a report that pushes the envelope, year after year," concludes Carl Vanden Bussche, Director Investor Relations at Barco.
