If you're planning a trip to French Provence this summer, be sure to put the village of Les Baux de Provence on your must-see list. Apart from the beautiful scenery and winding streets, you'll be blown away by the new exhibition at the Carrières de Lumières - the former quarry of the village. Here, Culturespaces brings the artworks of Bosch, Brueghel and Arcimboldo to life to the rhythm of contemporary music - with the help of 75 new Barco laser phosphor projectors!

Explore art in every detail
The former quarries in Baux have long formed the backdrop for music and light shows. When Culturespaces, an art consultancy agency, took over the management of the venue, they decided to turn it into a place where visitors could really experience art. 'Our aim was to take people on a musical journey into the art,' says Bruno Monnier, CEO of Culturespaces. To make sure the audience would see the paintings in vivid detail down to the brush strokes, Monnier and his team replaced the existing lamp-based projectors with our PGWU-62L laser phosphor projectors.
High in brightness, low in maintenance In early 2017, we delivered 75 units to the quarry. They were set up in just a couple of weeks, right on time for the 2017 exhibition to open on 4 March. Since then, they've been doing a fantastic job, adding an extra dimension of immersion and reality to the artwork. 'The feedback is very positive,' says Bruno Monnier. 'Visitors really notice the difference, while our technical team is delighted that the laser phosphor projectors require far less maintenance than their lamp-based predecessors.'

Happy as they are with Barco, Culturespaces has ordered more Barco PGWU-62L projectors for a brand-new Culturespaces venue: the 3,300m² Atelier de Lumière in the heart of Paris, which will open in April 2018. We'll keep you posted on this project!
