In September, Cinema City group will open a brand-new multiplex in the Czech Republic and one in Poland. Part of the market-leading Cineworld group, Cinema City chose Barco Smart Laser projectors for their very good image quality and low cost of operation, as well as our support services and excellent market reputation.

The best place to watch a movie
With roots going back to the 1930s and 98 cinemas to date, Cinema City is a leader in the Central and Eastern European cinema markets. Even more, in teaming up with Cineworld in 2014, the Cinema City/Cineworld group is Europe's number 2 cinema chain. Its mission? To be the best place to see a movie. To achieve that commitment, Cinema City theaters feature large screens, comfortable seating and market-leading technologies. When the chain made plans to open new multiplexes in Poland (the country's 34th Cinema City theater) and in the Czech Republic, it decided to use Barco laser-illuminated projectors.
Barco, what else? The reasons for choosing Barco were multiple. Cinema City was won over by our market-leading position, our innovator reputation and our support services. More important, however, was the excellent value proposition of our laser portfolio: the BLP Smart Laser projectors to be installed in Poland and the Czech Republic ensure very good image quality, while substantially reducing operating costs. The additional 10-year warranty offers complete peace of mind.

In total, we will deliver 37 BLP Smart Laser projectors (24 x 17BLP, 10 x 23BLP and 3 x the new 32BLP) to the new Cinema City theaters in Poland (18 screens) and in the Czech Republic (19 screens).
