New Cinema Joint Venture CEO Wim Buyens, today also Chairman of the Advanced Imaging Society, joined a highly esteemed cadre of presenters honoring innovators in cutting-edge cinema presentation and the use of advanced visualization including 3D, VR and HDR, at the 9th Annual Lumière™ Awards. The event was held last week at the Steven J. Ross Theater at Warner Bros. Studios in Hollywood.

The Lumière Awards recognize international achievement in the creation of immersive storytelling using advanced visual technologies. The Society honors the technical artists behind the movies, celebrating groundbreaking content and experiences produced for film, television, advertising, gaming, mobile, online and much more.

Awarded a Lumière statuette for Flagship Laser projector
In 2014, Barco won the 'Technology and New Product' award for its DP4K-60L ultra bright 6P RGB laser cinema projector. This award recognized Barco as a pioneer that is highly instrumental in driving the cinema industry to new heights.
