After a whirlwind tour of metropolitan Dubai last week, we're off to visit the tranquility of two national parks near the home cities of our bi-coastal US Marketing team. We'll also stop by a couple of entertainment venues that capture the pioneering spirit and technology leadership that defines Barco in the world. So get ready for take-off!

Your cross-country tour awaits!
At 3.97 million square miles, the United States is home to hundreds of amazing sites, from the Hawaiian Islands, to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, to Red Rocks, Playhouse Square, and the National Portrait Gallery, to Times Square in New York City, all the way down to Miami Beach. First stop: the West Coast to see one of the world's greatest natural wonders!

A natural wonder carved from ice
We've virtually gathered our marketing team at the foot of one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the world at Yosemite National Park. Formed from glaciers over several Ice Ages, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its granite cliffs, breathtaking waterfalls, crystal clear streams, giant sequoia groves, soaring mountains, and biological diversity. Rising 8,800 feet above sea level, 87 million-year-old Half Dome is a Yosemite icon and a great challenge to many hikers. Yosemite is also famous for its high concentration of waterfalls, many with sheer drops, glacial steps and hanging valleys. With so many natural wonders to experience, it's no surprise that the park set a visitation record in 2016, surpassing 5 million visitors!

Pioneering spirit comes to cinema
Further south, visitors can experience the most technologically advanced movie theater in the world at Regal LA LIVE, A Barco Innovation Center. Featuring a one-of-a kind creative hub for all of Barco's cutting-edge cinema technologies, the venue exemplifies Barco's vision for modern moviegoing, delivering an all-encompassing, immersive experience from start to finish. See it come together in a fast-paced video, from construction to go live!

Moving mountains in Georgia
Stone Mountain in Georgia, just 13 miles from the Barco Marketing headquarters of The Americas, rises 1,686 feet at its summit as is reachable by a walk-up trail or Skyride aerial tram. Since 2011, Barco projectors have enlivened the face of the mountain, featuring the largest bas-relief (rock carving) in the world, with a 3D projection mapping spectacular. Visitors experience simulating rocks blasting out of the surface with flowing volcanic lava, virtual horses in flight, and animated civil war characters, depicting a surreal tribute to American history with a glimpse of the city's future. See a teaser of the original show.

It's the real thing (Coke, that is)
Georgia is also home to the world's best-known beverage brand: Coca Cola® Taste 100+ beverages from around the world, get your picture taken with the legendary Coca-Cola polar bear, and even visit the vault where the legendary secret formula for Coca Cola (shhhhh) is kept. At this year's Cine Europe, Coca Cola teamed up with Barcoto create a full-blown Barco Lobby Experience, showing exhibitors how they can turn their cinema lobbies into fun and social destinations to make the moviegoing experience more memorable. The venue is also home to the Georgia Aquarium and the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Taste the melting pot!
Every locale has its own unique culture, climate and culinary delights, from clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl near foggy Fisherman's Wharf, to traditional jazz and creole cuisine in New Orleans, to New York-style pizza at Di Fara near the Brooklyn Bridge. So, make sure to stop frequently along the way to enjoy the melting pot of American culture as you forge a transcontinental journey that's sure to delight!

Keep an eye on our summer news, as we'll be taking a short break before resuming travels to Noida in August. In the meantime, enjoy the summer and share your own Barco summer pic/snap in the comments below!
