announcement dated 15 March 2011)Barra Resources Limited (ASX Code: BAR) is pleased to announce preliminary results of first pass aircore drilling on the new Kangaroo Hills Prospect at its Burbanks Gold Project, 8 kilometres south of Coolgardie, Western Australia.
The aircore drill program was designed to follow?up on highly encouraging reconnaissance rock?chip samples collected earlier in the year by testing a line of historical high?grade mine workings over a strike of approximately 800 metres (Figure 1, Table 2).The objectives of the program were to target shallow oxide gold mineralisation and identify zones of interest for second phase follow?up RC drilling.A total of 68 aircore holes for 1,144 metres were drilled at approximate 10 metre spacings on both the footwall and hangingwall sides to the workings where drill access was possible (Figure 2). All holes were drilled at minus 60 degrees in various orientations perpendicular to the line of workings and open stoping. It is pertinent to note over 40% of the holes were less than 10 metres due to fresh rock being close to the surface and impenetrable by the aircore rig.Three main areas were tested with significant intersections returned from all areas (Figure 2). Area 1 (KHAC001?039) tested the historical Glenloth South, Ivan and McPherson?s Reward workings with a best result of 3 metres grading 22.90 g/t gold from surface in hole KHAC037.Drilling at Area 2 (KHAC040?045) returned two 1 metre intersections of 1.11 g/t and 2.23g/t gold. The results are on the same structural trend (Burbanks Shear) as Pipeline and Trumpeter, 450 metres to the south.Barra Resources Limited (ABN 86 093 396 859)

At the northern end of the leases (Area 3) drillholes KHAC046?068 tested the historical Ivanhoe and Burbanks Ivanhoe mine workings with best results to including 1 metre grading 5.91 g/t Au (KHAC055) and 2 metres grading 12.79 g/t Au (KHAC056).
The program confirmed the presence of gold mineralisation associated with quartz veining in sheared diorite in a geological and structural setting identical to the Company?s Burbanks underground mining operation, about 3 kilometres to the south. All statutory requirements for follow?up RC drilling have been approved.Exploration at the Company?s Burbanks and Phillips Find Gold projects is planned to continue concurrently with the resumption of underground mine development at Burbanks which is being undertaken under a Tribute Mining Agreement with FMR investments Pty Ltd.Gary Berrell Executive Chairman Barra Resources LimitedThe information in this report which relates to Exploration Results is based on information compiled by Gary Harvey who is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and a full?time employee of Barra Resources Ltd. Gary Harvey has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2005 Edition of the ?Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves?. Gary Harvey consents to the inclusion in the report of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears.
It should not be assumed that the reported Exploration Results will result, with further exploration, in the definition of a Mineral Resource.
