"The availability of annual pricing for the Barracuda Spam Firewall on AWS Marketplace is really about three things: economics, flexibility and choice. As a dedicated email security solution available on AWS Marketplace, the Barracuda Spam Firewall provides a robust security feature set at a cost effective price," said Stephen Pao, GM Security at Barracuda. "As more organizations migrate their email infrastructure to the cloud, we make it easier for customers to find, evaluate and deploy those applications confidently and securely."

"We are thrilled to include Barracuda as one of our inaugural partners participating in annual subscription pricing on AWS Marketplace," said Terry Hanold, Vice President, Cloud Commerce, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "Customers now have more options to easily purchase the Barracuda Spam Firewall to secure their email infrastructure quickly and efficiently directly through the AWS Management Console."

The Barracuda Spam Firewall for AWS manages inbound and outbound email traffic to help protect organizations from email-borne threats and data leaks. Organizations can encrypt messages and leverage the cloud to spool email if mail servers become unavailable. Highlights of the new annual subscription pricing for the Barracuda Spam Firewall include:

-- Economics - The new annual pricing includes 14 percent cost savings over
metered, hourly subscriptions for a comparable term. Customers can
purchase the subscription for running the appliance instance for a
one-year upfront price to align with OPEX budgets, and they have the
ability to change their pricing models without restarting any instances
        or re-launching any applications.
-- Flexibility - The new annual pricing simplifies the process by allowing
customers to purchase licenses in advance as well as add on extra
licenses via the hourly model when needed. Further, this option allows
more control over maintenance windows for software upgrades and new
        feature rollouts.
-- Choice - The new annual pricing extends customer choice in terms of how
to pay for services and how to deploy. The Barracuda Spam Firewall is
active with known usage and traffic 24x7x365, and the annual
subscription pricing model aligns with customer usage patterns.
