MCINTOSH, AL, November 25, 2014 - The BASF site in McIntosh contributed $22,000 to United Way of Southwest Alabama. The funds will assist more than 50 United Way partner agencies in Clarke, Washington, and Mobile counties.

"BASF is pleased to support United Way of Southwest Alabama," said George Vann, Vice President of the BASF site in McIntosh. "In addition to the company's contribution our employees pledged more than $18,500 to the organization during our internal fundraising campaign. The contribution is a commitment to invest in the most critical needs facing Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties."

This year, BASF employee volunteers participated in United Way's annual Day of Caring. Employees spent one day completing projects that local United Way partner agencies didn't have the time, money, staff, or additional resources to address.

"United Way of Southwest Alabama is grateful for the continued support BASF and its employees have shown over the years," said Alan H. Turner II, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. "The employees have more than doubled their contributions since last year's campaign and it's through such generosity that United Way is able to continue improving the quality of life in Clarke, Washington and Mobile counties."
