JERSEY CITY, NJ, December 23, 2011 -- Soon children
across the region will be bubbling with excitement as BASF
once again teams up with Liberty Science Center to present
Kids' Lab, a series of exciting, hands on chemistry
workshops. The program was developed by BASF to help
families with children ages 6-12 explore and understand the
important role that chemistry plays in their everyday
lives.
"As the world's largest chemical company, BASF is
committed to fostering science literacy," said Robin
Rotenberg, Vice President and Chief Communications Officer
at BASF. "We are excited to partner with the
Liberty Science Center to feature our Kids Lab program,
realizing that today's students will be the thinkers,
innovators and leaders of the future."
Each lively and interactive 45-minute lab session
focuses on a different concept of chemistry including
"Playful Polymers," The pHun Factor," "Operation
Filtration," and others. They are led by a Liberty Science
Center educator in a specially-designed science laboratory.
Kids will get to experiment with chemistry in a creative
learning environment and even make things to take home.
They'll also get to keep their lab aprons, receive
certificates of participation, and other fun giveaway
items.
Families will have an opportunity to participate in
Kids' Lab during the 12 Days of Science on December 27, 28
and 29, and on select Saturdays from January 21 to July 21.
Sessions are offered three times a day at 10:45 a.m.,
11:45 a.m., or 1:30 p.m.
BASF's Kids' Lab is for children ages 6-12
accompanied by an adult caregiver. Participation is free
with LSC admission or membership and is offered on a
first-come, first-served basis. Please note, reservations
