BAUER Foundation Corp. carries out foundation works for the new William Beaumont Army Medical Center

El Paso, Texas, USA - The William Beaumont Army Medical Center in the Texan city of El Paso has a long history. The renowned U. S. Army hospital began its service in the middle of the 19th century. But now the clinic building is in need of renovation and is to be replaced by a new, modern construction, around 58,500 square meters in size. BAUER Foundation Corporation, the US subsidiary of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH, was awarded the contract to execute the foundation works. The client is Clark McCarthy Healthcare Partners from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth.

Bauer is installing 595 bored piles in total for the new hospital building, with diameters of up to 2,100 millimeters. Four Bauer rotary drilling rigs are being used for this. The work, which is partly being carried out on various working platforms with different heights, began in March 2014 and is planned to be completed by the end of 2015. The new building for the William Beaumont Army Medical Center will house the main hospital as well as inpatient and outpatient clinics, an administration building, a research building and a central supply facility, among other things.
