In Q4 FY14, Baxter reported gross margin of 49.7% compared to 46.2% in Q4 FY13. The company's net income in Q4 FY14 was $953 million, or $1.74 per diluted common share, compared to $326 million, or $0.59 per diluted common share, in Q4 FY13. In FY14, the company's net income was $2.50 billion, or $4.56 per diluted common share, compared to $2.01 billion, or $3.66 per diluted common share, in FY13. In FY14 Baxter generated cash flows from operations of $3.22 billion, compared to $3.20 billion in FY13. The company also raised its dividend for the eighth consecutive year in FY14 and returned more than $1.6 billion to shareholders.

Parkinson, Jr., stated that throughout 2014, the company executed on its financial and strategic priorities while positioning both companies for sustained success with investments to enhance their commercial, operational and scientific capabilities. In its outlook for Q1 FY15, Baxter expects sales growth of approximately 2% to 3%, excluding the impact of foreign currency. When considering an impact of foreign currency, the company expects a sales decline of approximately 3% to 4%, The company also anticipates earnings from continuing operations, before special items, of $0.85 to $0.90 per diluted share, which reflects traditional seasonality, the impact of foreign currency, increased generic competition, and additional manufacturing and operational costs which are expected to be most pronounced in Q1 FY15.
