Leverkusen, October 12, 2016- Bayer was awarded second place in the latest Good Company Ranking of the DAX 30 companies. According to the organizer, Kirchhoff Consult AG, this is the biggest sustainability ranking in Germany. The assessment focused on companies' performance in the areas of society, employees, the environment and financial integrity. Bayer was rated particularly highly in the area of society, among other reasons because of its systematic dialogue with its various stakeholders and the integration of the results of this dialogue into the company's decision-making processes. In the environment category, Bayer's activities for maintaining sustainability standards in the supply chain were assessed particularly positively.

'We are delighted by this accolade and will continue to rigorously pursue our commitment to sustainability,' said Dr. Hartmut Klusik, member of the Bayer Board of Management responsible for Human Resources, Technology and Sustainability. 'Sustainability is a core element of our strategy.'

The Good Company Ranking 2016 is based on data for the 2015 fiscal year. The assessment was performed by a scientific committee under the direction of Professor Edeltraud Günther from TU Dresden University.
