Munich. BMW ConnectedDrive scores yet another success at one of the world's most prestigious competitions for trendsetting technologies. ADAPTIVE mode, which is making its debut in the new BMW 7 Series, has taken top honours in the 'Vehicle Intelligence' category at the CES Innovation Awards 2016. The awards are presented annually in recognition of pioneering innovations in the field of consumer technology products. Following on from last year's top spot for the BMW i Remote app, this renewed success once again underlines the advanced level of development of BMW ConnectedDrive in this area.

The CES Innovation Awards are directly associated with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), one of the world's most important trade fairs of its kind which is taking place in Las Vegas from 6 to 9 January 2016. As part of the run-up to the show, the coveted CES Innovation Awards are being presented on 10 November 2015 in New York, this year featuring a total of 27 different categories. The entries submitted to the competition are assessed by judging panels made up of independent designers, engineers and members of the trade press.

ADAPTIVE mode - ideal for any driving style and any route.
The 'Vehicle Intelligence' category encompasses technologies and systems designed to make driving on our roads easier, safer and more convenient. At the CES Innovation Awards 2016, the judges selected as winner the ADAPTIVE mode that received its world premiere in the new BMW 7 Series. This brand new setting has been incorporated into the standard Driving Experience Control switch and offers an adaptive vehicle set-up that makes clearly noticeable adjustments to suit the current driving style and road profile. The system factors in a host of different parameters for this purpose. Depending on how the driver accelerates, brakes or steers, for example, or whether the gear selector is set to the D or S position, the drive and chassis systems automatically switch to characteristics with a sporty, neutral or comfortable bias. If the optional Navigation system Professional is fitted, the ADAPTIVE mode additionally analyses the map data in order to select the appropriate vehicle set-up for example when changing from urban driving to the motorway, when negotiating winding roads or when approaching a road junction. The car with its built-in radar also selects the optimum configuration for situations such as overtaking or drawing close to a vehicle in front.
This success at the CES Innovation Awards 2016 is further proof that BMW ConnectedDrive leads the way when it comes to connectivity between driver, vehicle and the outside world.
