Bayerische Motoren Werke AG : BMW Finds Engine Issue in 2013 M5, M6 Performance Cars, Halts Shipments -Report

BMW AG (BMW.XE) halted deliveries and will recall some newly built 2013 M5 and M6 performance cars because of an engine oil pump problem that could lead to severe engine damage, Reuters reported on its website Friday.
BMW is now contacting owners of the 2013 M5 sedan, M6 coupe and M6 convertible and recommends they don't drive the cars until the issue is fixed, according to a technical service message sent to dealers Friday, the report said. BMW confirmed the action and said it found a "manufacturing defect" in the oil pump through its quality checks, Reuters reported.
