Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) is a Spanish banking group. The group's activity is organized into three sectors:
- retail banking: sales of classical and specialized products and services (leasing credit, consumer loans, insurance, etc.);
- investment and market banking: project financing, capital investment, financial intermediation, merger-acquisition consulting, etc.;
- private banking and asset management.
At the end of 2012, the group manages EUR292.7 billion in current deposits and EUR352.9 billion in current credits.
Products and services are marketed via a network of 7,978 branches throughout the world.
Net banking income (GNP) breaks down geographically as follows: Spain (30.6%), Eurasia (5.4%), Mexico (26.3%), South America (27.1%) and the United States (10.6%).
