HALIFAX, Sept. 29, 2015/CNW/ - Bell Aliant today announced exciting new enhancements for customers in Atlantic Canadawith the launch of a new FibreOP TV feature called Restart, more On Demand TV programming, and Gigabit FibreOP, the fastest Internet experience in Canada.

The Best TV Experience just got Better - with Restart
Bell Aliant is the only TV provider in Atlantic Canadato give customers the ability to watch TV shows already in progress from the beginning with Restart. For eligible programming, customers can also browse backwards in the guide for up to 30 hours and watch previously aired programs as if they were live TV. This exciting new feature supports thousands of shows on over 100 channels including CBC, CTV, Global TV, HBO Canada, Super Channel, TSN and more.

Customers with both HD and PVR will receive Restart automatically over the next several weeks through a new FibreOP TV software upgrade. The software also enhances the FibreOP TV on-screen menu and channel guide, with a larger channel preview window, a Last Peek feature that shows picture-in-picture for the last 5 channels tuned, and an improved universal search with poster art. Upgrades are scheduled to be completed by the end of November.

In addition, customers will receive more TV programing with 25 new On Demand channels equaling close to 1,000 more hours of quality content added to our On Demand library and as the official broadcast partner for Atlantic University Sport (AUS), FibreOP TV1 offers all the AUS action on any screen at home or on the go with a smart phone, tablet or laptop. TV1 can be found on FibreOP TV channels 1 and 401 and online at BellAliant.ca/TV1.

Combined with Restart, new On Demand content, an enhanced on-screen channel guide, and AUS sports on FibreOP TV1, FibreOP TV's best TV experience just got better in Atlantic Canada.

The Fastest Internet Service just got Faster - with Gigabit FibreOP
Gigabit FibreOP offers customers the fastest Internet experience in Canada. Gigabit FibreOP will initially be available at a maximum of up to 940/100 Megabits per second increasing to up to 1000 Megabits (1 Gigabit) per second or faster in 2016.

'Gigabit FibreOP is available in more than 100 communities across Atlantic Canada,' said McKeen. 'Residents in communities big and small now have access to the fastest Internet in the country making surfing, watching, playing, listening and sharing faster than ever before.'
