Specialist insurer Beazley has signed up to the UK Treasury's Women in Finance Charter to help build a more balanced and fair financial services industry. Under the terms of the charter, Beazley has committed to working together with other signatories to achieve gender balance at all levels across the sector.

Beazley is one of the first specialist insurance companies to subscribe to the charter and has committed to increasing female representation in the company's leadership team to at least 35% by 2020.

Martin Bride, Beazley's finance director who also serves as the company's executive sponsor for the Women in Finance Charter, said: 'We're delighted to support this important initiative. Lloyd's has provided strong leadership in seeking to correct an historic gender imbalance in the London insurance market in recent years and we see this as important to the future health and success of our industry.'
