In collaboration with the College of Journalists of Andalusia and the Huelva Press Association, the 1st Environmental Journalism Award seeks to recognise the best journalistic work on an environmental theme.
Award:
The author of the winning work will receive €2,000 and a commemorative plaque.
Participants
The 1st Environmental Journalism Award is open to all works published in the Spanish media during 2013, on any support.
Structure and theme
The types of journalism work that can be entered for the award are feature reports, interviews, reports and opinion pieces on the following themes:
- Good environmental practices in industrial activities.
- Application of innovative technology solutions for sustainable development.
- Corporate social responsibility policies related to the environment.
Deadline for submissions
Candidates may submit pieces until 15 May 2014. Work should be submitted in paper or digital (pdf) format, if it relates to the printed or digital press, or in Windows Media format if it is for radio or television, together with the author's details, to the following address:

Jury
The jury will be made up of journalists representing the following entities:
- Befesa Communication Department
- Huelva Press Association
- College of Journalists of Andalusia
Decision by the jury and prize-giving
The jury will announce the name of the winner at the end of May. The award will be presented at a ceremony held in Huelva, coinciding with World Environment Day in early June.
Candidates must fully accept the terms and conditions of the competition in order to participate.
