WFAA-TV/Tom Thumb "Spirit Of Texas Tornado Disaster Relief
Fund" to Lend Support to North Texans Impacted by April 3
Storms
Dallas, Texas…WFAA and Tom Thumb have established the
Spirit of Texas Tornado Disaster Relief Fund to help North
Texans affected by the storms that rolled through area
communities on April 3.
Now through April 15, people can donate to the relief fund
at any of the 63 Tom Thumb locations throughout the
Dallas-Fort Worth region.
"By adding $1 or more to your grocery total as you check
out, you can help our friends and neighbors impacted by
last night's severe weather," said Connie Yates, Tom
Thumb's director of public affairs.
Every dollar collected will go directly to the American Red
Cross to assist the North Texas tornado victims. Donations
are tax deductible.
"The American Red Cross had said that monetary donations
are what they need most during times such as these," said
Dave Muscari, WFAA vice president/product development. "We
are pleased to be able to join Tom Thumb and support the
relief effort with this partnership."
WFAA and Tom Thumb have a long history of collecting
dollars to help support Red Cross efforts over the years.
In the past the companies have collected relief funds for
victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and work together
each year on the station's annual Santa's Helpers holiday
toy drive.
