William F. Austen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE: BMS), was inducted into the George Washington University Engineering Hall of Fame on October 13, 2016.

The George Washington University Engineering Hall of Fame was established in 2006 to recognize and honor distinguished School of Engineering and Science alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who have contributed to engineering, technology, or management in a sustained and significant way during their careers. These individuals bring distinction to George Washington University through their achievements and their contributions to their professions, the University, and society-at-large.

“Our Hall of Fame started in 2006 and now has 66 members, including Bill Austen. When you consider that George Washington University’s engineering school has about 22,000 living alumni, you immediately understand that our Hall of Fame is a very select group that truly represents the 'best-of-the-best' of engineering and computer science at GW,” said Dr. David S. Dolling, dean of the George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. “We’re proud to count Bill Austen as a member of this prestigious group.”

"Bill is an outstanding leader," said Timothy M. Manganello, Chairman of the Board for Bemis Company. "Bill drives results, connects well with stakeholders and employees, and embodies all the characteristics of a high-performing leader. I congratulate Bill on this distinguished nomination and support him as he continues to lead change at Bemis Company toward long-term success."

Mr. Austen has served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Bemis Company since 2014. Bill previously held various leadership roles at the company since joining in 2000.
