Haselünne/Hanover, May 3, 2018 - Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft, which is listed on the regulated market (General Standard) of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE0005201602), held its annual general meeting today in Hanover. With effect from the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Gert Purkert stepped down from the board after almost ten years at its helm. The annual general meeting appointed Uwe Bergheim as a new member of the Supervisory Board, and at its subsequent meeting the Supervisory Board appointed him to the position of Chairman, as planned.

Gert Purkert had this to say on stepping down: "During almost ten years as a member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft, I had the privilege of accompanying the Group on its journey to becoming a broad-based beverages group. I am convinced that the Group has a very stable foundation and is excellently equipped to continue on its successful trajectory. In Uwe Bergheim, Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft has today gained an experienced and competent new Chairman of the Supervisory Board." Mr. Bergheim currently works as a self-employed business consultant in Düsseldorf. The 61-year old expert in communications and business administration is also a member of the Board of Governors of Zentrale zur Bekämpfung unlauteren Wettbewerbs Frankfurt am Main e. V. ["Wettbewerbszentrale": Centre for Protection against Unfair Competition]. Mr. Bergheim has previously held positions as CEO of telecommunications provider E-Plus Mobilfunk GmbH & Co. KG as well as more recently as CEO of textile maker FALKE KGaA.

Brühöfner's fellow Executive Board member, Oliver Schwegmann, added: "Gert Purkert always represented the interests of all shareholders with a strong level of expertise and outstanding dedication. Now we look forward to working together with Uwe Bergheim."

The shareholders exonerated the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board at the annual general meeting. They also passed a resolution to pay a dividend of EUR 0.22 per share. Based on the current share price, this corresponds to a return of roughly 2.8%. This means that approximately EUR 2.1 million will be distributed to the shareholders in total. Arithmetically, this translates to more than 80% of consolidated profit. The previous-year figure was around 50%.

35.5% of the share capital of Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft was represented at the annual general meeting.
