Bergen : Contract for construction of concrete barge to the aquaculture industry

The contract has an estimated value of NOK 12-14 million, and commence immediately. The fleet has a dimension of 40 x 17 meters and will be delivered in Q1 2019.

Osland Havbruk AS, headquartered in Bjordal by Sognefjorden, is one of the fish farm companies in Norway with the longest history. Throughout the three generations, the company has developed solid production capabilities and capacity covering most of the value chain, with well established facilities for both broodstock, hatchery and sea water production of salmon and trout. Osland Havbruk AS has also previously been delivered feed barges in concrete from Sjøsterk.

CEO Torgeir Nærø is very pleased that Bergen Group Sjøsterk has received its first production order, at the same time the Group finalized the acquisition of the concrete barge producer Sjøsterk from Backe Bergen AS.

Stamsneset is located south of Bergen City, by the fjord separating Bergen Airport and the Norwegian Navy's headquarter at Haakonsvern. Bergen Group has acquired the property, which includes facilities such as a modern and upgraded dry dock of 22x90 meters, satisfactory crane capacity, a fabrication shop and an upgraded administration building.
