CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Apr 17, 2014) - Big Rock Brewery Inc. ("Big Rock") (TSX:BR) is excited to announce Freyja's Field Mead Braggot as the second Alchemist Edition release of 2014.

The braggot is an ancient brew that dates back to the 12th century. Freyja's Field, named after a Norse goddess, is Big Rock's euphoric take on this classic style. The tang of sweet clover honey from Three Hills, Alberta is blended with Alberta two row malt, hallertau hops and a specialized Braggot yeast. Paul's personal tasting notes explain that Freyja's Field will reveal itself with notes of sweet honey and light malt making it a perfect brew for Spring.

Only 3,000 bottles are being produced, making this brew one of our most limited releases. Available in a 650ml bomber bottle, Freyja's Field makes its appearance April 17th, 2014 in Alberta. What is the Alchemist Edition?

In brewing, as in life, you have to take risks to reap rewards. For the Alchemist Edition, Brewmaster Paul Gautreau ventures deep into uncharted brewing territory to craft bold, small batch beers that pay no heed to the rules of what came before. Adventurous and experimental, these risky brews are their own reward.
