On March 28, 2017, Herds has organized a major launch event in Hefei of two new products, the first Chinese infant formula products containing the probiotic L. fermentum CECT5716 LC40 in its composition. The presentation meeting has been attended by Alfonso Noriega Gómez, Chief Economic and Trade Counselor of the Spanish General Consulate in Shanghai, the president of the China Dairy Association, as well as the general managers of Herds and Biosearch Life and the commercial managers of both companies.

Herds is the first company to have included the strain Lactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 LC40 in its infant nutrition products in the Chinese market (www.heshimilk.com). Herds Dairy was founded in 1992 and is located in Long Xian, Shaanxi Province, northwest China. Herds is the largest Chinese manufacturer of infant formulas based on goat's milk and one of the largest infant formula manufacturers in western China. Its turnover is around RMB 1 billion. Herds will introduce the Biosearch Life's probiotic strain LC40, into two of its main product ranges: 'Bei'ouShaneng' and 'HuiBu'.

Infant nutrition market in China is the largest globally and with great potential for growth. The authorization of the LC40 strain registration was a great opportunity for Biosearch Life, as there are only eight strains authorized for this use in China, and this put the company at the height of leading probiotic market companies. Now it materializes with the recognition by Herds of benefits that LC40, probiotic isolated from breast milk, can bring to their products and approaches Biosearch Life to its goal of becoming an international benchmark with its product range in the infant nutrition sector.
