Black Hills Energy is consolidating its current downtown office and 10th Avenue warehouse into a new facility they are building in the West Beltway Commercial Addition in Spencer, Iowa.  The new location is scheduled to open in late 2014.

"The recent renewal of our 25-year franchise assures that we will continue as a long-term partner in the city of Spencer," said Heath Richter, operations supervisor in Spencer.  "This new building is an investment in our community's future.  It was determined to be the best long-term, cost-efficient decision for our customers, the city of Spencer and our company."

"The city of Spencer is pleased that Black Hills Energy is bringing new development into the West Beltway Commercial Addition, providing added tax base and at the same time opening valuable space in the downtown area," said Bob Fagen, Spencer city administrator.
