Sept. 22, 2015 - Black Hills Energy customers in Manchester and 22 surrounding communities will receive continued safe, reliable natural gas service under the guidance of new operations supervisor Allan 'Chip' Wical.

Wical' s responsibilities include directing day-to-day natural gas operations and oversight for Service Guard, the utility's natural gas and electric home appliance repair company.

Wical has been with the company for over thirty years. He began his career as a service technician in Grundy Center, Iowa, and later in Papillion, Nebraska, where he was promoted to lead technician. Since 2004, he has served as an operations supervisor for Black Hills Energy in Columbus, Nebraska.

'Chip's previous experiences as a technician and team leader make him ideally suited to guide the Manchester unit into the future,' said Darin Tolzin, Black Hills Energy's manager for central Iowa. 'We're dedicated to providing safe, reliable service to our customers, and Chip is a great addition to those efforts. We're very pleased to have Chip in this leadership role with our Iowa team.'

Wical and his wife, Cathy, will reside in Manchester.
