CHEYENNE LIGHT SPONSORS DILDINE ELEMENTARY'S 'JAMMIN' JUMPERS'

Jump-rope team to perform at Cheyenne Stampede Jr. A hockey game

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Feb. 7, 2013 - Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power is proud to serve as this year's sponsor of Dildine Elementary's "Jammin' Jumpers" jump-rope team.

The team is jumping at the chance to fight heart disease and stroke, the nation's No. 1 and No. 4 killers, and will perform at Saturday's Cheyenne Stampede Jr. A Hockey game.
Cheyenne Light is partnering with the American Heart Association and Jammin' Jumpers to show children how they can use their energy to stay healthy. And the event couldn't be timelier. According to recent studies, about a third of children ages 2 to 19 are overweight or obese.
"This partnership is an opportunity for us to help teach children that adding physical activity and energy to their daily routine can be fun and will help them stay healthy," said Monica Puente, Cheyenne Light customer education and marketing representative.
The Jammin' Jumpers choreograph jump-rope routines to music. Cheyenne Light volunteers challenged the jump-rope team to create a special performance using the Bee Gees' song "Stayin' Alive." The American Heart Association uses the song to educate people about the appropriate pace for chest compressions when performing life-saving CPR. Jammin' Jumpers' will perform their routine featuring the song for the first time Saturday.
Cheyenne Fire & Rescue team members will also take part in Saturday's performance by demonstrating chest compressions on CPR mannequins to the beat of the music.
