BLACK HILLS CORP. ANNOUNCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGE AND INVESTOR RELATIONS REALIGNMENT RAPID CITY, SD - June 1, 2012 - Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH) today announced the departure of Lynn Wilson, senior vice president - communications and investor relations. After nearly 15 years of dedicated service and numerous contributions to the company's employees, customers and shareholders, Wilson has decided to pursue the next chapter in her career and will be leaving BHC effective June 1,

2012.
With this announcement, the investor relations function has become part of the treasury department, and Jerome Nichols, director - investor relations, now reports to Brian Iverson, vice president - treasurer. This change consolidates the management of relationships with the investment community and provides closer coordination of investment and banking relationships.
Iverson is a certified public accountant and has a master of business administration degree and a law degree from the University of South Dakota. He has been with Black Hills for eight years, has worked in various positions within the legal, regulatory and resource planning areas, and has been the vice president and treasurer since 2011. Before joining the company, Iverson spent time in the banking industry and the private practice of law where he focused on business and financial transactions.
