The correct number for customer service at Black Hills Energy is 888-890-5554. The utility's toll-free, 24-hour emergency number (if you smell gas) is 800-694-8989.
'It is important for us to be easily accessible and we want to make sure our customers have the correct phone numbers,' said Tony Engling, Black Hills Energy's operations supervisor for the Maquoketa area. Black Hills Energy was not contacted by the publisher to verify its numbers and was not made aware of the publication prior to its being issued. The company serves 154,000 natural gas customers in 132 communities in Iowa.
