· BES12 Cloud launch in Australia provides more flexibility and choice for enterprises and small and medium businesses

Sydney- BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB), a world leader in mobile communications, today announced that AEG Ogden, BMD Group, Morea Architects and STENTOFON Australia are among the latest customers in Australia to roll out BES®12: a multi-OS EMM solution by BlackBerry. The Company also announced that BES®12 Cloud is now available in Australia and New Zealand, along with a range of enterprise services such as BBM® Meetings and WatchDox by BlackBerry®, which allows people to DRM-protect, share and work with their files on any device, for true, real-time, secure collaboration.

A mix of large and small businesses in Australia have deployed BES12 to manage multiple mobile platforms, including iOS, Android™, Windows Phone®, Samsung KNOX and BlackBerry® devices. To further productivity, customers are also using services like BBM Meetings, a mobile conferencing solution which lets people schedule, host and participate in meetings from anywhere, at a fraction of the cost of other leading collaboration tools. Government departments including the Australian National Audit Office and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau have also upgraded from BES10 to BES12 to take advantage of enhanced features for cross-platform device management, security and other new EMM capabilities.

Further underlining the Company's momentum in the Australian enterprise mobility market, BlackBerry has also signed a deal with an Australian-based organisation that has chosen BES12 to enable it to manage and secure up to 5,000 Samsung KNOX-enabled devices. This follows the announcement in November 2014 of BlackBerry's strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics Co Ltd to manage Samsung KNOX smartphones and tablets, delivering enterprise-grade Android security. In March 2015, BlackBerry added the capability to integrate Samsung KNOX with new BlackBerry enterprise services: WorkLife by BlackBerry® and SecuSUITE, a secure voice solution.

Matthew Ball, Managing Director for BlackBerry in Australia and New Zealand says, "It's exciting to see businesses of all sizes in Australia and New Zealand embracing our vision of true mobile working, allowing employees to work freely and flexibly from anywhere on any device, enjoying business agility in a secure mobile environment." Matthew adds, "These successes in Australia, and also in New Zealand, underscore how BlackBerry has transitioned its business to focus on enterprise mobility software. We continue to innovate in mobile security and privacy-first communications, but have transformed how we serve our customers to help them secure and manage data on any connected device - with BES12 at the foundation."

BlackBerry's BES12 platform offers enterprises easy management of iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets, as well as a wide range of Samsung KNOX and Android for Work smartphones and tablets. Now available in the cloud, BES12 provides more flexibility and choice, and makes it possible for small and medium business owners in Australia and New Zealand to benefit from the security, collaboration and productivity capabilities enjoyed by large enterprises.

Customers in Australia adopting BES12 and BES12 Cloud for multi-OS EMM include:

· AEG Ogden is responsible for the management of Australia's most iconic venues, including Allphones Arena, Sydney Exhibition Centre, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Suncorp Stadium. AEG invested in BES12 to future-proof its increasingly mobile workforce.

Dirk Hoffman, CIO for the Middle East, Asia and Pacific says, "With a workforce that is always working remotely, on-site or on the move, we needed an agile, scalable and easy-to-manage enterprise mobility platform that could manage any device and promised both full productivity and most importantly, security of information. As Airwatch could not meet our security requirements, we have rolled-out BES12 as our enterprise mobility platform. We have also deployed BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic devices, and now in the process of making BES12 our one-stop solution to manage all other mobile devices in our APAC network, including those running iOS and Android."

· Morea Architects, a small, innovative and growing Melbourne-based architect firm, migrated to BES12 Cloud to protect sensitive client designs while employees work off-site - securely and affordably.

"Knowing our designs are protected by the most secure enterprise mobility platform in the world gives us - and our clients - peace of mind," says Constantine Dionysios Moschoyiannis, Director at Morea Architects. "With BES12 Cloud, we take advantage of BlackBerry's security architecture, and can manage any device our staff members choose to use, without the need for dedicated in-house technical support, saving thousands of dollars in IT costs. We also save valuable time and money with BBM Meetings, which lets our small team conduct meetings from anywhere, show the building site, share plans with the office and the client, make changes and get client approval - securely, in real time".

· BMD Group, one of Australia's largest privately-owned construction companies with more than 1,700 employees, needed an enterprise mobility solution that would secure and manage client data shared on mobile devices across Australia, but be flexible enough to adapt to its changing mobility requirements.

John Mulder, Group Information Technology Manager says, "BMD Group migrated from BES10 to BES12 knowing that we had the flexibility and scalability to add and deploy any smartphone or tablet we wanted to - all managed through a single console. Today, our teams use a mixture of BlackBerry 10, iOS and Android devices. Our workforce is happy and more productive with the flexibility of device choice, and management is happy that our security and cost requirements are met, so we can just get on with the job of delivering the best possible service to our clients."

· STENTOFON Communications Australia, based in Melbourne, has a small team that delivers large-scale, industrial internal communications systems to organisations all over Australia and New Zealand, such as hospitals and prisons. With security, fast communication and quality at its core, it deployed BES12 for secure multi-OS management, and uses BBM Meetings to communicate with clients.

Richard Adams, Technical Manager at STENTOFON says, "We have a small, highly skilled team that is always on the road. We needed a solution that enabled twenty-four-seven, behind-the-firewall access to technical information in the office, and the ability to communicate more affordably and securely across geographies. With a mixture of BlackBerry 10 and Android devices, BES12 multi-OS management gives us the capability to be truly mobile. With BBM Meetings, we held a video webinar presentation for a government department in New Zealand, showing a presentation and our equipment physically working. We closed the deal, at a fraction of the cost. With BlackBerry, we can work from anywhere."

The adoption of BES12 and other BlackBerry Enterprise Services reflects a broader trend of Australian businesses embracing enterprise mobility solutions to help their employees get the most out of the mobile products they are using to optimise productivity, but with the right levels of control. According to a recent study from Telsyte[1], Australia's enterprise mobility market will be worth up to $4.9 billion by 2019.

Matthew Ball continues, "Research from Telsyte in 2014 showed that more than 70 per cent of Australian-based organisations operate Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) and Choose-Your-Own-Device (CYOD) options for staff. As the number of tablets, smartphones and applications used by employees increases, so too do problems of keeping data secure."

The Australian Federal Police recently reported that 3,500 cyber-attacks on Australia from foreign countries and criminals occurred in April 2015 alone, demonstrating how the threats to businesses and government departments are increasing.

Matthew concludes, "Organisations are looking for that golden egg - protecting their business against threats or data leakage, without limiting freedom, productivity and business agility. Today, BlackBerry can help businesses of any size achieve that goal, but also future-proof mobility investments for the next wave of mobility - the Internet of Things - secured by BES12."

Ends.
