DALLAS, Nov. 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blue Calypso, Inc. (OTCQB:BCYP), a leading developer of mobile shopper engagement solutions, today announced its partnership with North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) to provide innovative mobile technology in an effort to increase donations and public awareness of the organization's mission, open auditions and upcoming shows at its Plano Children's Theatre (PCT) and McKinney Youth Theatre (MYT) locations.

"We're honored to partner with the Plano and McKinney theatre locations, and show our support for the local performing arts community," said Andrew Levi, CEO of Blue Calypso. "Our patented technology will allow the organization to stay relevant and forward-thinking in the digital age. Often, mobile technology is associated directly with major corporations who have big dollars to spend, but as we've experienced, smaller organizations often reap the benefits equally, if not more."

NTPA is dedicated to developing the character of youth through quality performing arts education and family entertainment. The organization aims to provide arts opportunities for youth, aged 4-18, that promote life-long learning, creativity, communication skills, teamwork, integrity and good citizenship.

The performing arts organization will utilize Blue Calypso's mobile engagement platform at two shows:

  • "Little Shop of Horrors, Jr." on Nov. 12-15
  • "Seussical the Musical" on Nov. 19-22 and Dec. 4-6

Based on the preferred theatre location, participants who text either 'MYT' or 'PCT' to 73095 will have access to the "app-less" mobile platform via a microsite that provides information about NTPA, including its mission, methods of donation, audition opportunities and show schedules. Additionally, theatre-goers can share via social media and receive two free tickets, as well as text during the show to be entered into a contest to win two additional free tickets. By not requiring an app, NTPA can reach a much broader audience because anyone with a mobile phone can text in to access the microsite without having to download something that will take up storage space on their phones.

"Although we are on-stage, as opposed to on-screen, digital technology provides our theatres innovative ways to raise funds and spread our mission to local communities and performance-loving youth," said Hollie Hongosh, Managing Director of the Plano Children's Theatre and McKinney Youth Theatre. "Through Blue Calypso's technology, we believe we will reach our goals and engage with tech-savvy participants in a personal way, re-connecting them with the love of off-screen performances."

The Blue Calypso platform captures real-time, in-depth analytics such as location intelligence, reporting and insight on participant's content interaction, attribution and conversion. The comprehensive analytics will allow NTPA to access key information relevant for marketing and fundraising purposes, such as post-click engagement, foot traffic, pre and post-visit engagement and demographics.

About North Texas Performing Arts

NTPA was founded as Plano Children's Theatre in 1991 by Sara Akers, who continues on as the executive director. The organization now manages children's and youth theatres in Frisco, McKinney, and Plano, serving thousands of youths aged 4-18 with classes, camps, and productions. Each year, NTPA provides tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to less privileged performers and runs more than 150 plays, musicals, camps, and classes. This is all done under that same mission that started it all: to provide art opportunities for youth which promote life-long learning, creativity, communication skills, teamwork, integrity, and good citizenship.
