BVSA, BrazilFoundation create social joint venture

02/02/2015

BM&FBOVESPA's Socio-Environmental Investment Exchange (BVSA), which is a BM&FBOVESPA Institute project, is united with BrazilFoundation in a common vision of creating a culture of transformative philanthropy in Brazil, coupled with a belief that their purposes and competencies are complementary. In the manner of a social joint venture, the two institutions have become co-operators and co-investors.

This joint venture will allow each listed socioenvironmental project to receive an immediate initial investment of R$ 40,000 from BrazilFoundation. The projects will additionally be able to raise as much as R$ 50,000 from thousands of sponsors in Brazil and abroad who already invest in socio-environmental projects through BVSA. The projects will be listed for up to one year, after which they will be replaced by new ones.

The partnership's exclusive mission is to motivate sponsors to support carefully selected socio-environmental projects, with proven results, in order to build a more egalitarian and fairer society.

The two institutions will maintain their organizational, institutional and governance identities.

BVSA and BrazilFoundation believe that by combining global views, accumulated experience and lessons, they can celebrate the creation of an unprecedented model in the country and give Brazil and the world a true example of how the sum of institutions' competencies strengthens their respective missions.
