Event's 14th edition gathers agribusiness experts in Brazil 06/17/2015

BM&FBOVESPA held the 14th edition of the Agribusiness Outlook Seminar in São Paulo on June 16, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, gathering more than 700 people from areas that included agribusiness, commerce, industry, government, associations, financial markets and the press.

In a speech, BM&FBOVESPA CEO Edemir Pinto stressed the importance of agribusiness for the Brazilian economy. "We've already seen that agribusiness had a good performance the first quarter, preventing even greater retraction in the economy. Our agribusiness has shown a strength that we're certain is here to stay."

Brazilian and foreign luminaries discussed the main trends and macroeconomic impacts for agribusiness in 2015 and 2016.

Among the main participants were Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, Kátia Abreu; Managing Director of Commodity Research & Product Development of CME Group, David Lehman; Secretary of Agriculture and Food Supply for the State of São Paulo, Arnaldo Jardim; Managing Partner at Schwartsman & Associados Consultoria Econômica, Alexandre Schwartsman; Chief Economist at Itaú Unibanco, Ilan Goldfajn; and Managing Director at Contango Markets, Clive Furness.

The Agribusiness Outlook Seminar is held annually to debate trends in the global commodities market and in the main agribusiness production chains.
The seminar's major differential is that it is the only agribusiness event that discusses price formation prospects and strategies for this market.
