On 26 November, 2015, the Board of Directors of BNL, chaired by Luigi Abete, has met and appointed Andrea Munari Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of BNL.

He takes also the role of Country Head of Italy for the BNP Paribas Group and he will be appointed Member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee.

Before joining BNL, Andrea Munari, 53 years old, was CEO of Credito Fondiario SpA, former General Manager of Banca IMI and a long-standing Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and Barclays in London. He is currently a Member of the Board of the London Stock Exchange and Deputy Chairman of Borsa Italiana.

Luigi Abete, Chairman of BNL, on behalf of the Board of Directors, expressed its appreciation for the appointment of Andrea Munari, highlighting 'the choice of an Italian manager with a wide international experience to guide a very important domestic market for the Group.'.

Commenting on the appointment of Andrea Munari, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, CEO of BNP Paribas said: 'I have every confidence in the ability of Andrea Munari to continue the development of BNL.
