MARY KAY HABEN ELECTED
TO BOB EVANS FARMS, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Former Wrigley and Kraft Executive Brings Marketing Savvy
COLUMBUS, Ohio - August 24, 2012 - Bob Evans Farms,
Inc. (NASDAQ: BOBE) has announced the election of Mary Kay
Haben to its Board of Directors. Haben was elected during the
annual shareholders meeting on August 22. Haben retired as
President-North America for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company in
Chicago, Illinois, a leading confectionary company, in
February
2011. She spent nearly 30 years prior as an executive at
Kraft Foods. Haben has a B.S. in
Business Administration from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign and her M.B.A.
from the University of Michigan's Ross School of
Business.
"We are thrilled that Mary Kay has joined our Board," says
Bob Evans Farms, Inc. Chairman and CEO Steven A. Davis.
"She's a savvy marketer with experience in consumer products
and emerging media, marketing innovation and brand
positioning, as well as acquisitions and productivity
initiatives."
"In addition, the strategic growth plan for our foods
business is built on both organic and inorganic growth,"
continues Davis. "Mary Kay brings us valuable experience from
the consumer packaged goods industry that will be invaluable
to us as we pursue opportunities in these
areas."
Haben filled a seat left open by Bryan Stockton, who first
joined the board in 2006 and served through the Annual
Stockholders meeting on August 22. Stockton decided not to
stand for re- election to devote more time to professional
and personal obligations due to his recent promotion to the
Chief Executive Officer position at Mattel, Inc.
"We are extremely grateful to Bryan for his service and
dedication to the company and our
stockholders," says Davis. "He served with distinction."
With Haben's election, Bob Evans Farms Board now has 50%
diverse representation making it twice as diverse as most
Fortune 500 companies*.
"Diversity is a key part of our business strategy," explains
Davis. "Multiple viewpoints and experiences lead to greater
innovation and better business decisions."
