Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited ("BOCHK") wishes to alert the public that a faked email was found requesting customers to click the link and enter a fraudulent website. If customers click the link for Chinese version, they will be redirected to another fraudulent web page (http://www.eurofoodstuff.com.hk/images/files/Stand/HSBC2.html) and asked to provide their personal and credit card information for activation of "one time password" online security service of "Verified by Visa". BOCHK would like to declare that neither BOCHK nor BOC Credit Card is related in any way, directly or indirectly, to the faked email and all the businesses as well as the services provided by the fraudulent website. BOCHK has reported the case to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Police. Anyone who has logged on to, has provided his or her personal information (including but not limited to account numbers, personal identification numbers ("PIN") or other account information), or has conducted any financial transactions through the fraudulent website should contact BOC Credit Card Customer Service hotline at (852) 2214 3417 and the Hong Kong Police.

Customers are reminded to be vigilant of any faked emails and fraudulent websites which seek to pass off as those operated by BOCHK. Customers should not access their e-banking accounts through hyperlinks embedded in emails sent to them from any unknown source or enter any suspected fraudulent websites mentioned in the faked emails. It is always prudent to type in the web address of BOCHK (www.bochk.com) or BOC Credit Card (www.boci.com.hk) into the browser address bar to ensure the security of their personal information.

Unless customers are certain that they are connected to www.bochk.com or www.boci.com.hk, particulars of their e-banking accounts, phone banking accounts as well as their personal information should not be provided. Under no circumstances would BOCHK or BOC Credit Card send out emails or SMS messages, or call customers asking them to call back or browse a website for system upgrade, or to collect or verify customers' personal information (including but not limited to bank account number, PIN, account balance, HKID card number and passport number). If customers have any enquiry, they are advised to call the BOCHK's customer hotline at (852) 3988 2388 or BOC Credit Card Customer Service hotline at (852) 2214 3417.
