70 Small and Medium Capitalisation companies listed on the Spanish stock exchange and more than 200 institutional investors will participate during two days in the 10th MEDCAP Forum of Small and Medium Capitalisation companies, which BME will host in the Madrid Stock Exchange, starting tomorrow, 27 May.

Jaime García-Legaz, Secretary of State for Trade andAntonio Zoido, Chairman of BME, will welcome participants during the opening session. On the second day, Begoña Cristero, Secretary General of Industry for Small and Medium Enterprises, will deliver a keynote address.

The main objectives of the Forum are to enhance the liquidity and financing potential of these companies and to allow investors, in particular non-residents, to gain first-hand information from a set of companies that over the last few years have proved that their efforts and internationalisation strategies have been successful.

Among the attendees that will take part in the panels will be Antonio Hernández, Chairman of Ebro Foods; Leopoldo F. Pujals, Chairman of Jazztel, Antonio María Pradera, Chairman of Cie Automotive, Manuel G. Durán, Chairman of Ezentis and Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros, Chairman of Amper. In addition, otherfinancial directors and IR heads representing their companies will take part in the one-to-one meetings that will be held during the event.

Non-resident investors seem to be keen on increasing their knowledge of these companies and have shown more interest in taking part in this Forum than in previous gatherings, with attendance up 32% on the previous year.

The programme combines roundtables on such different sectors (industrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnological and real estate companies) and such topical themes as: keys of the interest in Spanish companies, the contribution of managers of Small Caps in the selection of stocks, successful internationalisation strategies, signs of the resurgence in domestic demand, main stock recommendations for 2014 and competitive advantages of Spanish companies abroad. Besides, the Forum will feature a talk about the Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF), a new source of financing for companies. During this gathering, the first companies to tap this market for financing will come together and describe their experiences.

For the fourth consecutive year, part of the second session will be devoted to companies listed on MAB, many of which will be represented by their top managers.

The 10th MedCap Forum will, for the first time, hold Discovery Meetings, which are quick presentations of 25 minutes by more than twenty companies, where any person registered for the event can attend.
