Boulogne-Billancourt, December 11, 2013 - The Boursorama group announced today that it has achieved the objective set early this year; the Group now has over 500,000 clients in France.
Marie Cheval, CEO of Boursorama stated: « Driven by current account's openings which grew by
40% at the end of October 2013, Boursorama Banque now has over 500,000 clients. Achieving this objective highlights the relevance of the Boursorama model, leader of online banking in France. »
The Boursorama Banque new client's profile, at the end of 2013, is as follows:
- Still mostly men (58%) although the proportion of women is increasing rapidly (+5 points compared to 2009);
- Aged between 18 and 39 (59%) and becoming established, although mobile banking is not the privilege of the younger generation: 20% of Boursorama Banque customers are aged over 59;
- He lives in Ile de France (40%), reflecting thus the high potential growth in other regions;
- He has chosen Boursorama Banque for its competitive fees. Indeed, over 90% of new clients choose Boursorama Banque to open their current account first. Two-thirds have a credit card, which is always free of charge. In 2012, 58% of Boursorama Banque's clients paid no banking fees ;
- Nearly 5% of Boursorama Banque's clients have subscribed a housing loan at Boursorama Banque. This illustrates both steady growth in the Group's housing loan production (+85% in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the third quarter of 2012) and the development potential for the bank with this product;
- The Boursorama banque's client logs on more than 8 times per month to the Boursorama on- line services (website and mobile applications, i.e. 4.3 million connexions recorded in September 2013). He is able to make any on-line transaction, from any device (computer, tablet, Smartphone), at any time, simply and rapidly;
- 92% recommend Boursorama Banque1. The score has also been noticed in the results of a
2013 Boston Consulting Group survey2 regarding the most recommended brands by "word of mouth": according to the survey, Boursorama Banque ranks N°2 worldwide in the retail banking sector.
Thus, Boursorama Banque aims to pursue its development and confirm its status as the leader of online banking in France.
