Press release

Bouygues Telecom offers fibre at speeds of up to 1 Gb/s from 17 November and expands its VDSL offer as of today In keeping with its determination to widen fixed internet access, Bouygues Telecom continues to provide the best very-high-speed technologies to as many people as possible.

Paris, 27 October 2014 - Bouygues Telecom announces the availability of speeds of up to 1 Gb/s with its Bbox Sensation Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH1) offer, with upload speeds of up to 200 Mb/s, starting 17 November. With the price unchanged at €25.99 per month, the FTTH version of the Bbox Sensation Fibre offers the most compelling very-high-speed experience.
For customers not eligible for FTTH, Bouygues Telecom is also proposing an alternative starting today: the Bbox Sensation Fibre with speeds up to 200 Mb/s (Fibre-To-The Neighbourhood or Building2), or the Bbox Sensation VDSL offer.
Following the decision by Arcep to extend the eligibility for VDSL2 technology to all indirect distribution lines3, Bouygues Telecom is now able to offer the benefits of faster VDSL speeds to one out of four homes connected to its directly-own network. The specific features of VDSL2 technology (length and quality of the line) enable eligible homes to benefit from improved speeds, in some cases exceeding 30 Mb/s (the very-high-speed threshold defined by Arcep).
Bouygues Telecom will further expand its VDSL offer from 18 January 2015 with the inclusion of this technology in its entry-level offer at €19.99 per month.
Today, 45% of French households can sign up to the €19.99 offer in ADSL or VDSL (according to eligibility) on Bouygues Telecom's directly-owned network. Thanks to a dynamic roll-out, this coverage will be 55% by the end of 2015.
Current customers eligible for the offer can simply request migration to VDSL technology. This migration, including indirect lines, will be available free of charge from 17 November 2014 for Bbox Sensation customers, and from 18 January 2015 for Bbox customers with the €19.99 per month offer.
In conjunction with the launch of the 1Gb/s Bbox Sensation Fibre offer, Bouygues Telecom is making Sensation ADSL/VDSL hardware compatible with 1 Gb/s FTTH technology in order to facilitate migration for eligible customers.
