Bouygues : Thierry Thuillier appointed CEO of LCI

The TF1 group is delighted to announce that Thierry Thuillier will be joining the Group as Chief Executive Officer on Tuesday August 16, 2016.

Jean-François Mulliez will work alongside him as his deputy.

Catherine Nayl, Executive Vice President News at the TF1 group, commented: "Thierry Thuillier joins us as LCI is beginning a new chapter in its history on digital terrestrial freeview, with the launch of digital offerings and new programming schedules starting on August 29. Thierry's experience as editor-in-chief for general- interest and rolling news channels, and in the production of news magazines, will be invaluable in moving LCI forwards in the forthcoming autumn season and beyond. I would also like to pay tribute to the commitment of Nicolas Charbonneau, who played a major role in launching LCI on freeview."

Born on May 24, 1963, Thierry Thuillier began his media career at TF1 in the early 1990s as a reporter covering foreign and domestic stories, having previously worked as a political researcher at BVA.

In 1994, he joined the foreign news desk at the France 2 channel, where six years later he took over as foreign editor. One of his main achievements at France 2 came in 2002 when he devised and presented Un œil sur la planète, a magazine programme dedicated to geopolitical issues.

In 2008, Thierry moved to the rolling news channel I-Télé as managing editor.

Two years later, he was appointed managing editor at France Télévisions, and in 2013 he took on a parallel role as head of France 2.

He left the France Télévisions group in 2015 to join Canal+ as head of sport.

He joined Eléphant & Cie in early 2016 to develop a new range of magazine programmes and unscripted shows.
