Bridgestone Corporation Named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Asia Pacific Indices

TOKYO (September 26, 2016) - Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the first time and the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index for the seventh consecutive year. These indices, maintained collaboratively by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, measure the performance of the world's sustainability leaders based on a comprehensive analysis of long-term economic, environmental and social criteria.

Bridgestone attributes its high ranking to its focused efforts on environmental and economic initiatives.

Environmental Approach

Bridgestone achieved the highest score in the Auto Components industry sector in the environmental dimension and the maximum score of 100 in two environmental assessment criteria: climate strategy and environmental reporting.

The Bridgestone Group (the Group), which includes Bridgestone and its consolidated subsidiaries, has set a long-term environmental vision for the year 2050 and beyond.
