British American Tobacco plc : Director/PDMR Shareholding

NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules.

1.      The Company was notified on 8 January 2014 by the trustee of the British American Tobacco Employee Share Ownership Plan that on 8 January 2014 the following executive director and other persons discharging managerial responsibility (together the "Participants") had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") by way of the Partnership Share Scheme at a price of 3,153 pence per Share.

The number of Shares purchased by each Participant, together with their interests following the transaction, are as follows:

2.      The Company was notified on 8 January 2014 that on 8 January 2014 Mr A M Gray, a person discharging managerial responsibilities, acquired 1,231 British American Tobacco p.l.c. ordinary shares of 25p each (the "Shares") following the exercise of options held under the British American Tobacco Sharesave Scheme at an option price of 1,360 pence per Share.

Following this notification, Mr Gray has a total beneficial and family interest in 100,706 Shares (including 27,289 Deferred Shares).
